Sensei Kerri Wilfong
Sensei has been studying Seibukan Karate for over 20 years. She currently holds a fourth degree black belt and currently a student and member of the International Okinawa Shorin-ryu Seibukan Karate-Do Association (IOSSKA).
She has been teaching karate to children and adults in Stanwood for over 15 years, taking over when her Sensei retired. She has participated in competitions and possess valuable skills as a teacher/motivator.
Sensei Kerri has traveled to Okinawa to train directly under Hanshi Zenpo Shimabukuro and continues to train under head instructor of Pacific Northwest Seibukan Karate-do, Sensei Jeff Nagata, Kyoshi
She has also studied Yama Kei Aiki Jujutsu and has achieved her black belt in this ancient art of the samurai.
Sempai Devan Douwes
Devan Douwes began his training in Seibukan Shorin-Ryu in 2004 at the age of 14. He competed in a number of AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) tournaments during his first few years, participating in kata, team kata, kumite, and kobudo (Bo and Sai). He received various medals and several trophies for his performance.
In 2008, Devan achieved the rank of Shodan. Today, he continues to train under his instructors at Fudo Yama Karate-Jutsu, and is a current member of the IOSSKA which enables him to also continue his training in Seibukan Karate-Do. He enjoys aiding in teaching the children and adults which fosters his dedication and training as an assistant teacher and advanced karate-ka.
